Our Clients
Who Are They?

Our clients are all types of people from all walks of life. When we meet we are strangers, but when we part we are friends and family.

Shirley
Although Shirley has three daughters, they are spread all over the country and were unable to leave their jobs long enough to manage their mother's move. And Shirley's health was acting up. She was exhausted all the time and having difficulty walking. She couldn't imagine how she was ever going to sell her home - she needed help. Shirley and I worked together for two months, and during that time, we downsized it to make it more attractive to buyers, it sold, we interviewed movers, packed her, and she moved into her new home. She is now living in an adult community where her daily needs are met - meals are served, and both mental and physical stimulation are readily available.

Nora
Nora lost her husband 6 months before she called me. She didn't like being alone and was moving to Florida to be closer to her children. When I first met Nora she was unsure of herself and quite nervous about handling things that had always been her husband's domain. During the 9 months that we worked together (Nora liked to get an early start - she was incredibly organized and really only thought she needed me!) I saw her become the strong and capable person she really is. We both cried when we said good-bye! She said she couldn't have done it without me - but I know she really only needed a friend to help her through it.

Sara
Sara had lived in her home in the country for over 50 years, and by her own admission, hadn't thrown anything away in that time. I believe her! Sara's daughter called me and she and I worked together, a few hours every day, to liberate Sara's home of enough clutter to decide what she should move to her new two bedroom apartment. Sara was embarassed to be living this way and relieved to be moving on to something small, clean and efficient. Earlier efforts on her daughter's part to help her mother "downsize" had been met with resistence and created tension between them. When the job was finished, both Sara and her daughter thanked me for "preserving their relationship"! They were happy to have someone whose only focus was to solve the problem without judgment. Sara is now happily living in her cheerful, clutter-free apartment.

The Jones
Elizabeth and Reverend Jones were moving to Georgia to be closer to their daughter and to escape the cold winters of New York. All they wanted was to spend their time in rocking chairs on a warm, sunny porch, remembering the joys and accomplishments of their lives. Reverend Jones had recently had a stroke and was spending most of his day in a wheelchair. Because they were so beloved in their community, the Jones' had an enormous flock of friends and relations who were all anxious to help them with the daunting project of moving from their home of over 40 years. They needed someone to harness the work force. Within a month, we had downsized, packed and moved the Jones' to their new home. When I last heard from them, they were rocking away on their porch and smiling smugly as each new snow-storm hit New York!
